Overall Appearance: Starlight has always been a very small cat, probably the runt of her litter if she had any siblings. Her fur is a sleek black, and short from the backs of her ears to the tip of her tail. Her whiskers are like-wise short, as well as her nose and muzzle. In truth, only her silvery eyes appear larger than normal on her small frame. As a result, any cat Starlight looks at directly has the sudden sensation that the she-cat is peering into their soul. She has but one marking, a white patch on her chest shaped like a five-point star. This is her only vain point, and she grooms the spot frequently, often while thinking. Her build, apart from being small, is slim and not particularly muscular. Her strength comes mainly from traveling for herbs rather than training or hunting. Since discovering her parents' identity, Starlight has been told that she has her father's black pelt and her mother's large, silver-blue eyes.

who you really are...
Personality: Starlight tends to keep to herself. In a crowd, she will always be found to the back, keeping her personal space. She prefers to sit back and observe rather than actively participate. When she does speak up, she never has anything frivolous to say. Her insights are those of someone on the outside looking in, enhanced by her observant nature, clear head, and practicality. Though usually soft-spoken, she can be ferocious when she has need, such as berating her more reckless clan members. She is always happiest and most confident when working her craft. Starlight considers the vow of celibacy that comes with her position unfortunate, but worth every second. Of course, she has never come across a tom that truly made her blood race.... While as a medic, Starlight is verbally critical of her patients, as a spirtual leader, Starlight is wise and gentle. As for freetime, in those rare and miraculous moments when there is no work to be done, Starlight enjoys obsessively cleaning and organizing her den.

History: It was a cold day, one of the first of new-leaf, when the herb-gathering Galazyfur found an unexpected sight - a tiny black kit, collapsed on the ground. Concerned, he took the small she-cat back to his den in the MountainClan camp. When the kit awoke, she had no memory of her origins, only a vague sense of cold and hunger. A nasty-looking bump on her head attested to her amnesia. A small group was sent out in the hopes of finding her parents, but to no avail. The blood-sprinkled trail ended at a river, and the warriors could not pick it up again. In the end, the lost kit was taken in by MountainClan and given the name Starkit.
Galaxyfur took Starkit under his wing almost immediately, particularly after noticing the star-shaped mark on her chest. He nursed the kit back to health, and when the clan decided it was time for her to become an apprentice, the old medicine cat became her mentor.
Some time later, the elders told Starpaw that she looked very much like two warriors who had gone missing while on patrol. She was reminiscent of Burntfur, particularly her black coat. Except for her eyes. Her eyes looked exactly like Silvereye's pale-blue globes. As these two cats were mates, the elders decided that Starpaw must be the pair's daughter. Starpaw proudly accepted the heritage, thrilled to truly belong with her clan by blood.
Starlight was fifteen moons old when Galaxyfur took her to the Moontree to receive her full name. Only one moon later, the elderly tom died, crushed by a boulder. Starlight mourned only briefly. Though her mentor and father-figure could no longer be present in her day-to-day life, she could always find him among the stars in her dreams. Starlight took to her new role as head medicine cat quickly, and is now quite comfortable with her place in the clan.
